Important announcement regarding the National Championships

Following recent developments in the Skateboarding World Calendar, the Board of Directors of Skateboard England have decided to postpone the inaugural National Championships which were scheduled to take place at the Mount Hawke and XC Skateparks in April 2018.

It has been confirmed that skateboarding European Championships and World Championships will take place at the end of the skateboarding season each year as part of the ranking points system for qualification to the Olympic Games. It makes sense that National Championships are held just prior to these qualifying competitions as opposed to at the start of the season, and that is the main reason for this postponement.

It is also anticipated that a unified format for judging will have been agreed by that time for World Skate sanctioned skateboarding competitions allowing skateboarders to be judged in the same way for National, Continental and World Championship events; bringing continuity and consistency to judging across all levels of competitive skateboarding.

The rescheduled dates for the Skateboard England National Championships 2018 will be confirmed in due course.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this decision which has been made to ensure that the very best event for skateboarders can be put on and to allow proper preparation for those who qualify for the European Championships.
